BDT Investments Inc. is Lisa's creditor and, by the parties' own account, has funded its litigation for more than twenty years. BDT sued Lisa for payment in 2012 and attached its shares, dividends and funds up to US$19.2 million, including money of Lisa's that Villamorey held at GTC Bank. The settlement that ended that case, signed in February 2020 and approved by the court in April 2022, assigned BDT Lisa's rights in about 250 lawsuits in settlement of the debt; an appeals court confirmed the approval in 2024, and Lisa endorsed its Villamorey shares to BDT in July 2022. Villamorey has not registered BDT as a shareholder, BDT says, and in May 2025 BDT sued to compel it, valuing the shares at US$60 million. The GTC Bank funds have not been released, as far as the record shows.
